Attendance queue

Making sure everyone who arrived before you to an event has left before you, so no-one can accuse you of attending for less time. Most commonly used in regards to work or awkward social situations.

1. Work is a total attendance queue right now.

2. I'f I skip the attendance queue I will get fired for sure.

Question you ask your professor during class to show him or her that you show up to class regularly. Useful for grade bumps at the end of the semester.

Person A: Why'd you ask Professor Land that question if you already knew the answer?

Person B: It was an Attendance question, duh!

Attenuation of the Taint

1. An enhanced interrogation technique, notoriously employed at the abu-Ghraib prison, involving the pulling of the scrotum and anal cavity in opposite directions, with the goal of inflicting pain to a suspect's crotch region. Unlike with typical torture methods, any information obtained through this practice will be admissible in a criminal proceeding, as it is as an exception to the "fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine".

2. A long-term medical condition, typically caused by successful subjection to such a technique.

Thomas (1980) 112 Cal.App.3d 980, 986 (observing that “what constitutes ‘exploitation’ on the one hand and what fact or facts will lead a court to say that the taint has become attenuated, cannot be determined by pressing a button: the answer depends on reason and precedent.”)

Defensive Attendance

Attending a meeting where you are optional or not invited at all just to make sure you can deflect any work assignments that come out of it. Wasting an hour to save hours.

I don't have any questions for the speaker. Mine was merely defensive attendance.
