Melphomene Projects

One of the most dangerous housing developments in the U.S.

The Melpomene Project was constructed in 1964. The site was once made up of single and multi-family houses; by the late 1950s the city declared them slums which paved the way for the project. It is the youngest surviving housing project in New Orleans. In 2004-05, half of the development was demolished and renovated after failing to meet the Housing Authority of New Orleans' economic viability guidelines. Subsequently, the demolition of the other half has been put on hold. The complex is commonly referred to be the nickname "Melph".

Projects

Usually a group of dirty buildings made for really poor/homeless people to live in. Projects are dangerous, very dirty, filled with gangsters, drug dealers, pimps, hookers and such. The first set of projects made(Starret City, made in 1963) where made for Blacks to live in,but over the years people of all races started to live in projects.
New York's worst set of projects is in Brooklyn, called Starret City. New Orleans's worst is the Caliope Projects. Californias is the Pork & Beans Projects.

psychological projection

1. Projection is the psychological phenomenon where someone thinks everyone else is doing and thinking what they are. It is usually seen as the externalisation of a person's negative traits, placing blame on an outside force such as the environment, a government, a society or other people.
2. Projection can also extend to philosophy and knowledge. This occurs when a person or small group of people assume that everyone else is working with the same ideas and/or information that they are. When this fails to happen, however, it can lead to pluralistic ignorance. A telltale sign of this is when a speaker says that "Everybody knows that...(a certain course of action)" is either beneficial or harmful, so society should avoid an impending catastrophe by following the course of action that the speaker proposes.
3. Another common forum for projection is in internet arguments, where it is usually pathetically obvious to everyone except the projector. The problem is recognized in intelligence analysis, in the form of cognitive traps for intelligence analysis.
Psychological Projection:
-An adulterous husband may think his wife is sleeping around.
-Creationists assert that supporters of evolution are religious zealots, and religious (especially Christian) fanatics assert that atheism is a religion.
-Self-proclaimed 'Ex-homosexuals' may state that all gays are empty, sinful shells of human beings that need repairing so they can be good, God-fearing straights.
-Racists who claim that anyone who criticises them must also be racially prejudiced.
-Swinkin' it.

projects

short for housing projects..
government-owned buildings meant for the poorer people in an area to live in.
sometimes rent goes by how much money you make, so if you have a really crap job, you can still afford to live there.
because of this, drug-dealers, gangsters, heathens and hoodrats make it in, and that's why there is a bad connotation to the word "projects"
the only fun thing to do in the projects is wait for the ice cream truck!

special projects

The title given to an employee in a corporation that can mean one of two things:
1.) The boss doesn't know what to do with them and is on his way to letting them go.
2.) The boss needs somebody to do all of the seriously boring and repetative tasks that he/she can't be bothered to give to real employees. This usually involves lower pay than everyone as the title is unqualifiable and therefor you cannot demand any specific pay rate.
