Lovey Effect

The "Lovey Effect" occurs when a man realizes that a woman previously viewed as a sexless old crone is actually quite bangable. This usually happens at about age 40. The name is derived from "Lovey" Howell from Gilligans Island. When you watched the show as a kid you thought she was like 80. Then as an adult you realize there were three good options on that island.

A slang term for a stuffed animal or toy favored by a child. Often used to self-soothe or provide emotional comfort.

Other synonyms/variations include lovie, lovies, stuffy, stuffie, stuffies, plush, and plushies

“Mia’s starting to get too old to carry her lovey around everywhere, what if she gets bullied?”

By the time most kids are adults, their lovies will be pretty banged up. To be loved is to be changed.
