Usally a guy is the person being jealous. when his good friend finially gets a boyfriend and instead of him being happy for her he is jealous its not him and tries to do anything to break them up.

Girl: Your my best friend so im going to tell you this first.... I have a boyfriend

Guy: Really........oh well thats nice *god I have to break them up i wanted to be her boyfriend we were friends for so long*

Girl: so arent you happy for me?

Guy: ............

Girl: OMG! are you going threw jealous friend syndrom.

Special Lady Friend

The effect can be reduced by removing the friends from your field of view i.e with your hands.

similar but subtly different is the 'Hugh Hefner effect' where surrounding yourself with more beautiful people of the opposite sex in turn increases your own attractiveness.

fair weather friend 

A friend who only wants to hang out when he/she is in a good mood. They say that they'd rather not make their friends unhappy, and use this as an excuse to break off engagements on a moment's notice if his/her mood changes.

I was planning to hang out with Mike today, but he's such a fair weather friend that he called me five minutes before he was supposed to show up and canceled because he said he's feeling down.

a best friend is someone close to your heart. youll give up your world to see them happy. and would do the craziest things that their planning before they can go do it cus you no theyll get hurt, to show them its not right. a best friend is someone that will never judge you for what you tell them and is always willing to stay up all night for you to make sure your ok. will stay by ur side wen everyones left. will help you all they can and expect nothing in return. will argue with you most cause they care bout you. neva say bad things about you. always see past your flaws and always stay real.even if they have problems of their own, they still rather help you fru yours. hold your hand wen you can no longer see. wil be your side even if theyd rather be somewere else. would cry for you and die for you. its were youll alway find happieness and peace wen its no where else.
