City Conservative

Typically a young person, often living in suburban/urban areas who has moderate, centre right conservative values. What separates a City Conservative from their Conservative peers is they are less judgemental and generally open about their beliefs; they will rarely have a party membership and will seldom commit to one political party.

The values of City Conservatives are also often more pragmatic and internal. For example, a city conservative would not voice total opposition to abortion, or shame those who have one, they just would not get one themselves. It is an evolution of the ‘silent majority’ analogy in US politics whereby pragmatic conservatives who want a stable family, a secure job, moral value and a love of country do not want to be placed in the same box as MAGA republicans.

The Extraphysical Conservation Problem refers to the theoretical difficulty of extending classical conservation laws (energy, momentum, information, etc.) beyond the physical universe into hypothetical extraphysical domains such as multiverses, higher dimensions, probability spaces, or non-material realms. While physics assumes conservation holds within a closed system, this problem questions what happens when the “system” includes parallel universes, branching timelines, or non-physical layers of reality. It asks whether conservation laws still apply globally, whether they are redistributed across realities, or whether conservation itself breaks down outside spacetime. The problem is central to speculative cosmology, multiverse theory, and extraphysical metaphysics.
Extraphysical Conservation Problem — Example

Imagine a multiverse experiment where energy appears to vanish from our universe during a quantum event. Later, another universe shows an unexplained energy surge at the exact same probabilistic moment. Locally, conservation seems violated in both universes, but globally—across the multiverse—the total energy may remain conserved. The problem is that observers inside only one universe cannot verify whether conservation holds extraphysically or is merely broken beyond their measurement horizon.

whipped dog conservative

A conservative who is so afraid of ostracism by liberals that he instinctively pulls punches, ducks fights, and asks his supporters to be content with minimal victories or defeats that could have been worse.
Rush Limbaugh once accused the Republican majorityof acting like 'whipped puppy dogs.' An illustrative case would be the call by certain neoconservatives for a "twenty year national debate" on abortion before moving forward with pro-life legislation. A whipped dog conservative would pretend to find this reasoning persuasive, since it gives him an excuse to duck a fight.

The Battery Conservation Paradox

The decision faced when prompted with a low battery on a device such as a phone or ipod you wish to use later. Brought on by the fear that by going through the energy-consuming act of turning off the device you may actually use the last of the battery you are trying to conserve.
As Jenny needed her phone to call a cab later but had minimal battery left, she was faced with the Battery Conservation Paradox. Did she dare attempt to turn off her phone lest it die completely?

Ad domus conservationist

One who recycles and conserves at home, and makes sure the whole world knows it. However, anywhere else this person will waste more resources than a hummer on steroids.
He is a ad domus conservationist. He only cares about the environment at home.

The Law of Conservation of Hype

Hype cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed from one form to another
Why did Marvel have to release the second Captain America: Civil War trailer right before the release of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Due to The Law of Conservation of Hype, some of my BVS hype has now been transferred to Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
