I just bought it and it looks great. The score is amazing and Gustauve still looks like a swarthy Robert Pattinson. The French aesthetic was a good choice. The story revolves around the macabre countdown perpetrated by this supernatural entity called "The Paintress" where every year she reduces the number painted (in light) on this giant tree across the sea by 1 and every of the corresponding age vanishes into a cloud of flowers.

Get the expedentiously mug.The chaotic, messy, and uncontrollable factors from the real world that invade a controlled experiment and ruin its beautiful, clean data. They are everything the researchers didn't think of, couldn't control for, or actively ignored to make their study publishable. If a lab study shows that people in a quiet room perform better on puzzles, the External Variables are the screaming kids, the pounding hangover, and the constant phone notifications of real life. They are the reason why a drug that works in 100% of carefully selected mice only works in 30% of chaotic, genetically diverse, cheeseburger-eating humans.
External Variables (Scientific Research) "That study saying productivity apps change your life controlled for every Internal Variable. But they didn't account for the External Variables: your battery dying, your boss adding more work, and your cat walking across the keyboard. The lab is a lie; the External Variables are always waiting outside the door."

Get the External Variables (Scientific Research) mug.The chaotic, real-world factors that corrupt pure logical reasoning when it leaves the textbook and enters human brains. These are the cognitive biases, emotional states, social pressures, and physical limitations that ensure no actual human being ever reasons with perfect formal logic. You might know that A implies B, but if B triggers your childhood trauma, your brain will find seventeen creative ways to deny the implication. External Variables are why logic puzzles are easy and real arguments are impossible—because real arguments involve sleep deprivation, ego, and that thing your dad said in 1998.
External Variables of Logic "In theory, I should have accepted his apology and moved on. But the External Variables of Logic—namely, the memory of every time he'd done this before—made that rationally optimal choice emotionally impossible."

Get the External Variables of Logic mug.A speculative framework proposing that spacetime is not limited to the four dimensions (three space + one time) we currently perceive, but extends into additional dimensions or structures that fundamentally change our understanding of reality. Extended Spacetime Theory suggests that what we call "spacetime" is just a slice, a projection, or a low-dimensional shadow of a richer, higher-dimensional manifold. These extra dimensions might be compactified (curled up at tiny scales), expanded (large but invisible to us), or exist in parallel branes (membranes in higher-dimensional space). The theory extends Einstein's relativity by asking: if spacetime can curve, why can't it also extend? It's relativity pushed to its logical conclusion—spacetime isn't just flexible; it's extensible.
"Einstein showed spacetime curves. Extended Spacetime Theory asks: curves into what? The answer: into higher dimensions we can't see. Our universe is a four-dimensional surface in a ten-dimensional sea. Extended Spacetime doesn't replace relativity; it completes it. Spacetime doesn't just bend; it extends—into realms we're only beginning to imagine."
