Grey Water

A water saving strategy usually used by third world countries, but now is being used in rural country Australia i.e. Bendigo etc to help save water.

It's when you re-use the water from washing dishes, laundry and bathing. It's dangerous to drink or give to animals and is not suppose to be used to water plants or trees that produce fruits or foods for human consumption i.e. apple trees, tomato plants etc

Grey Area

A slang term coined by south-eastern Wyoming marijuana smokers. Most often used to refer to getting high, but also to welcome a first time smoker.

"Hey man I just got some new bud."
"Yeah man, lets go to that grey area." or

gerrymandering

In the context of Ireland, esp. in the time of establishing its independence on Britain, gerrymandering was used to describe the practice of some individuals going to the polls several times at different places, so that the party (Fianna Fáil in this case) was sure to win the elections.

My granddad told me he went gerrymandering dozens of times although he was not paid for it...
