The commonest pattern is a mother obtaining narcissistic gratification by parading her son around in a dress, while the father stands by helplessly as his son is rail-roaded into a permanent trans identity. The term arose in late 2020 as a response to the narratives presented in HBO's Transhood and the Save James case in Texas.
