Up River

A slang term used in North West United States to describe lower income, Caucasian people, with poor health and/or hygiene standards that often live up the valleys’ hillsides who typically like Nascar.

Look at all the junk cars and broken washing machines in Billy-Bob's front lawn; he must be "up river".

Light It Up

Slang for applying more power to the tires of a vehicle than can be transferred into forward motion, resulting in wheel slippage and tire spin. Commonly knows as a burnout or peelout; lighting it up is more commonly associated with break stands in a front wheel drive minivan.

I'm gonna light it up in front of that cop just to let him know what's up.

Wow, that minivan can really light it up when you floor it.

ripped up

A state of being exceedingly intoxicated through the consumption of hideous amounts of alcohol. Derives from the predictive text system used by mobile phones which has 'ripped' as the second (borno) word to appear when one enters the number combination 747733, meaning to enter 'pissed'. When out on the lash this word invariably ends up as 'ripped' because either the phone user cannot see the phone screen through the alcoholic fug or even sees three (borno) phones. Consequently, 'on the ripper' describes the intention to consume, or the physical act of consuming, extreme amounts of fermented liquids prior to the 'ripped up' state. Hence, 'The Yorkshire ripper', 'Sutcliffed', 'Jack the ripper', can all be used as synonyms.

The dwix was ripped up last night.
