Scientific Adam

A term used by scientists when talking about the theoretical "Adam" of the present day human race. Some scientists believe that mutations in a male's Y chromosome prove that one man fathered all of humanity.

Every male has their own unique mutation in the Y chromosome. That mutation is passed on to his son and his son's sons. Now a mutation has been discovered that seems to be in every male that has been tested, giving proof of a Scientific Adam

A Certain Scientific Railgun

(Toaru Kagaku no Railgun　とある　科学　の　られぐん）　 An amazing anime series that follows the lives of a few main characters (Misaka-san, Shirai-san, Uiharu-san, Saten-san. As a sequel to A Certain Magical Index two of the main characters were side characters in the former series. Misaka Mikoto (main character) is an ojou-sama and a senior student at the prestigious Tokiwadai Academy. Misaka is a highly skilled student and is the third of seven level 5's in the city. The show is mostly based on the students who have varying degrees of abilities all of which can be proven scientifically.

scientismist

SCI-EN-TISM-IST = Adherent of Scientism (Religion based on Science). Not to be confused with Mary Baker Eddy's CHRISTIAN SCIENCE or L. Ron Hubbard's SCIENTOLOGY.

Scientismists are usually atheists or agnostics. Sometimes they are members of mainstream religious groups, but, they tend to view the religion as being mostly a MORAL foundation, with God and Scriptural stories being symbolic rather than literal. "Cause & Effect" or "Action and Result" are common rules of thumb for the Scientismist. I avoid an action, not for fear of Hell, but to avoid the scientifically proven result of that action.
