The first episode of Spongebob Squarepants, Help Wanted, aired on May 1, 1999. As of June 2019, the show is still running and has 12 seasons with 245 episodes. A movie based around the show, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, was released on November 19, 2004. A second movie based around the show, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, was released on February 6, 2015. A third movie based around the show, The Spongebob Movie: It’s A Wonderful Sponge, is in development and will be released on May 22, 2020.
