Although many seem to believe that feminists are insane men haters that is simply not true. Feminists are people (men included) who believe women should be treated as equals. The crazy men haters people speak of are sexist women.

A feminist is someone who believes that although men and women are not technically the same, they still deserve equal rights, treatment, opportunities etc.
