A mix of the words Lolita (usually a girl between the ages 8-16) and shonen (meaning boy). It usually means a boy who look far younger then they are and often act in such a manner.

Originates from the Japanese "Shoutacon" which is short for Shoutarou Complex, Shoutarou being a stereotypical name for young boys in Japan.

Shota

Shota is a Japanese term used in mostly Yaoi in which a male character LOOKS like a child under or at the age of 13.

This specifies to LOOKS , not necessarily age , therefore it's only illegal if the boy is actually younger the 13.

Shou from uta no Prince sama is a shota.
