Melodic Death Metal

Possibly one of the greatest Sub-Genres in all of Heavy Metal. It combines the brutality, low guitar and bass tunings, complex and fast drumming, guttural vocals (while usually higher pitched than in normal Death Metal) with focus more on melody and harmony more than brutality. Electric guitars typically have complex rhythm, structure and riffs to them and combine low riffing, palm muting and power chords with "mini-solo" like parts that involve higher notes and odd note groupings. The genre started in the early 90's and has spanned from there. Some great/notable bands including a song are:

melon shooter

A Muffler with an excessively and impractically large diameter output pipe (or an excessively large tailpipe on cars with mufflers located further from the rear of the car) - especially one that is mated to a much smaller upstream exaust system. Typically used to make a car "look fast" as opposed to modifications that actually make a car faster.

This type of exaust is called a "mellon shooter" because it is large enough to launch a melon that would be inserted into it - if the engine had enough power.

Look at the melon shooter on that Civic - it's as big as a sewer pipe!

Melodie

She's shy at first, yet will open up as you become friendlier. She may have a dark past and doesn't express her feelings well, so be careful with certain topics. She can be a real softie at times, and a badass at others.

She loves making new friends, yet isn't really sociable so she never makes any. She's quite smart, and cool too.

She's unique, in more ways than one. Her name is MelodIE not MelodY. That's pretty cool.
