"I think God is beautiful!"
"No, God is dead."
"Agree to disagree?"
"Sure, wanna go get some sushi?"
"YUM-"

When someone have a really stupid opinion but you don't have the time or energy to debate them so you just want to cut short the conversation and get some of the sense of moral superiority you would've get by proving them wrong.

Essentially means, "I hear what you're saying, but I still think you're full of shit."
One agrees to the other's comment, but not really, in a passive-aggressive way.
Often used in the work environment to piss off co-workers.

Perky Employee: I think we should get a work group together to determine how to build company spirit. I really think it would build morale.
Co-Worker: I don't disagree with you, but I think comp-days would work better.

Guy2:No they don't the KNICKS suck.
Guy:Your both wrong. The Spurs are pretty bad.
Guy1:Can't we agree to disagree? This argument is really petty. We both seem to be set in our argument.

"They won't do anything they don't want to do." For example, they would rather die than say things they dont want to say. They would, perhaps, refuse to leave the door open when talking to their students in private so that no one would be able to say that they were piping the grad students (You know? As a form of INSULATION FROM SCANDAL). And they would DEFINITELY not EVER acknowledge someone they didn't want to acknowledge.
Hym "But would 'Disagreeable people' lie blatantly about being Disagreeable? Perhaps.... What would it take for them to lie? Well... Maybe, JUST maybe... "How they might be conceptualized" is higher up on their hierarchy of values than the actual truth. For example, if they engaged in some sort of religious enterprise and you asked them whether or not they believe in God.... They would prioritize how they would be conceptualized for answering over the actual answer. So they wouldn't answer. Why should they? They don't want to. And THEIR will is superordinate to all others and must be preserved at all cost."
