99.999% of all people playing any particular game all think they are complete Rock Stars, and totally AWESOME at the game, when in fact that is the exact percentage of people who totally suck at the game in question.

Frequency Delusion

Playing off the name of a cognitive bias, frequency illusion, where instead of seeing something all the time after people first notice it, they see whatever is on their mind everywhere they look. Like reading between the lines and assuming there’s a nazi message or some kind of hate speech embedded somewhere when there in fact is not.

“Every time I use a jigger in a cocktail recipe, that tranny thinks I’m calling shim the n-word!” “Typical frequency delusion right there!”

Self-delusion occurs when a person tricks themselves into thinking something, which usually isn't true. This might happen when something very bad happens, like a close family member or friend got into an fatal accident, and you have no clue if they're okay or not, because you didn't know it was fatal. You may try to make yourself believe they are okay, when they are sadly not. You delude yourself.

Sally thinks her dog'll be okay. She really has deluded herself. (self-delusion. She deluded herself into thinking her dog would be okay)

When no matter how much a professional sports team of Toronto is loosing, they are always the winning team in the eyes of hopeless fans.

- Toronto won last night! They are definitely going to the playoffs now!
- Ummm... that's their first win all season.
- Yeah! But they are going to win all the rest now, I can feel it.

optical delusion

Something that is merely for show or aesthetic/cosmetic purposes only --- it simply makes something APPEAR better or more attractive, but it does not actually add to the strength/quality/usefulness of the person or object.

Excellent examples of optical delusion are paint, Bondo, fancy costumes, plastic surgery, etc... they may make something or someone LOOK really nice on the outside, but the cosmetically-altered subject is still the same decrepit undesirable underneath.
