It's a name of a place and it could also be a person's first or last name.

A very expensive name. People last named Comendador are very very rich. They own tons of hotel in Spain.

Comendador is also the capital of the Elías Piña province of the Dominican Republic. It has a border crossing to the Haitian town Belladère.

Teacher: Students we have a new student, her name is Mia Comendador.
