Term or title for a person who is frighteningly competent. They have been resourceful under pressure and completed many tasks with grace and aplomb. The implication is that the person can be expected to perform as well as anyone could in poor conditions with incomplete instructions and insufficient resources.

Usage: Mary is the best sous chef in the city. Everybody who understands the profession knows they can count on her under any circumstances. Mary is not just good, she is a certified badass sous chef.
