Therian

A Therian is someone who identifies as a human on a non-physical level. They are not furries. A Therain can also have a theriotype which is the animal that makes them a Therian. They can have more than one theriotype. My theriotype is a Canadian Lynx.

therianthropic

To contain the qualities of both an animal and human. From the Greek prefixes Theri- meaning "wild animal" and anthropo- meaning "human".
This word is usually used to describe gods, (i.e. Bast) but is also literally what a furry is.

The Egyptian goddess Bast is a therianthropic Deity.

The characters in Furrlough are therianthropic.

Therian Day

Every 4th of the months therians do vocals/sounds and quads and wear a mask if they have one in public. It’s completely optional but extremely encouraged in the therian community.

A person who spiritually connects with an animal or multiple animals. A therian can feel connected by seeing visions, dreams, or having a belief that they were one in their past life/lives. Therians do not identify as an animal they just feel connected.
