New Age term for human beings who believe themselves to be direct genetic descendants or hybrids of extraterrestrial or interdimensional beings. Starseeds usually have repeated psychic or physical contact with ETs. Often such persons feel a strong sense of intuition and/or have experience with extra-sensory perceptions (ESP). Some, however, struggle with mental illness in grappling their unique dispositions.

A person who has potential for greatness. This potential could be expected (such as a young prince) or discovered (such as a child prodigy). A starseed is, literally, a seed who will, could, or should, become a star.

A 3 year old child who displays a profound understanding of science, or math, or music, could be considered a starseed.
