chicken scratch

Incredibly messy handwriting that is nearly impossible to read. Usually the only person who can read it is the person that wrote it. Sometimes not even they can read it after a while. The writing looks like the footprints and/or scratches chickens leave in the dirt hence the name.

"Dude what the fuck did you write here?! I can't read this damn chicken scratch worth shit!"

This is the tagline for the film Alien, which was directed by Ridley Scott, not James Cameron, as currently stated on this site. Cameron directed the sequel, Aliens.

"In space, no one can hear you scream." is on e of the most quoted and parodied timelines in film history. It would have been more accurate if applied to Cuaron's Gravity, in which the silence of space plays a role in the narrative.

Sega Scream

Quite possibly the single most ingenious video game marketing move ever. In the middle of the Sega Genesis' life cycle (c. 1992,) commercials for Genesis games would be punctuated with a very short sound clip of a man yelling "SEGA!" at the top of his lungs. The yell usually came from a character in the commercial itself. It was a beautiful bit of brand identity, as everybody from the kids the company was targeting with the ads to parents and grandparents everywhere recognized the yell. The Sega Scream faded away with the introduction of the Sega Saturn (much like the company,) but was reintroduced in 2000 in an effort to drum up interest in the Sega Dreamcast. The power of the Scream had waned, however, and now only Sega fanboys recognized the once mighty call.

"Not a day goes by that I don't miss the Sega Scream. Also, I haven't touched a girl in like 5 months. SO LONELY," lamented the author of the definition.

Scratch My Back

Scratch My Back is the eighth studio album (and fifteenth album overall) by English musician Peter Gabriel, his first in eight years. It was released in February 2010. The album, recorded at Air Lyndhurst and Real World Studios during 2009, consists of cover versions of twelve songs by various artists, using only orchestra and voice.It is produced by Gabriel himself with Bob Ezrin.
