pAutomatators is a term used by engineering fanatics to refer to themselves. The namesake refers to engineers specifically working in process automation and instrumentation.

The origin of the word is unknown, but its roots can be traced to a common hash tag in the community, #pAuto, standing for process automation. The word seems to be a combination between pAuto and terminator. Pshh engineers right??

How can you call yourself a pAutomatator if your facility still hasn’t converted to digital?

This word can also be used as a universal racial slur, although originally intended for use towards Asians. (Derived from the word "Pontoon", referring to the frequent use of boats for the transportation of immigrants)
