nerdcore

Any form of music that is made by nerds, for nerds, or about nerdly things. Nerdcore can be made in any style of music, but most people identify it in either its pop-punk or hip-hop forms. Although many people think the term "nerdcore" was made up by MC Frontalot, it has in fact been in use by rock bands for many years prior to Frontalot's use of the term.

Nerdcore should not be confused with bands that are simply stereotypically popular with nerds such as They Might Be Giants, DEVO, Ween, etc.

Musicians in this genre include (but are by no means limited to):

Warp 11
The Aquabats (definately moreso in their later albums)

nerdonym

--noun Grammar (NURD-uh-nim)

1. Any word whose proper pronunciation is unknown because the word has only been read, primarily in books. Such words are often tragically mispronounced, and may lay dormant for years until the correct pronunciation is heard in conversation.

Frequent usage of nerdonyms indicates excessive reading, likely of science-fiction and/or fantasy books.
Common examples:

• My first recorded nerdonym is "gazebo", which I originally thought was "GAYS-bo".

What do you mean it's pronounced "GRAIN-ing"? I thought it was "Matt GRO-en-ing"!

• Person A: "I'm having a 'DIAL-mama'."
Person B: "A what?"
A: "A 'DIAL-mama'."
B: "Do you mean 'dilemma'?"
A: I thought it was...
B: ...it's 'DILL-emma", dude. You just had a nerdonym.

• "He's a great OH-raider. What? I just discovered a nerdonym, didn't I?"

nerdbot

A nerdbot is derived from two words. "nerd" and "bot". When these two words are put together, they form the compound word "nerdbot". What a nerdbot essentially is, is a person with no life and plays counter-strike 24/7, only stopping for food and occasional sleep. A person who is a nerdbot knows every L337 word in the L337 dictionary and even speaks "L337" in real life situations. A nerdbot also relates every real life situation to counter-strike. Nerdbots tend to stick together, so despite what people say, they do have friends.
"oh em gee, I hacked my teacher's exam." -nerdbot
"I sped hacked home to play cs guys!" -nerdbot
"WOW this guy is UB3R gay, he headshotted me with a dodgeball! A1Mb0t@!1"
