musical whiplash

When a person mix CD’s or MP3 collection is so eclectic that it causes a shock every time the track changes. The most server cases of musical whiplash are experienced at house parties where the change in style can be so traumatic to the guests that they begin to dance in an erratic and deranged fashion e.g. moshing to pop, skanking to metal and street dancing to ska.

I was happily listening to Pantera in blanks car the other day then Miley Cyrus came on, I carried on head banging wound up with a full blown case of musical whiplash.

High School Musical Moment

A very rare occurrence when a song comes on and everyone sings with it because it is so familiar.

1. Today on the bus, "Hey There Delilah" came on the radio, and everyone started singing it. It was such a High School Musical Moment.

2. Yesterday, in art class, the art teacher turned the radio on. Everyone was silent until "Rock and Roll All Night" came on, then they started singing along; it was a total High School Musical Moment.

Musical Orgasm

1. That moment of bliss that overcomes you when listening to a song and/or while at a live concert or venue. May or may not be accompanied by an actual orgasm.

2. The moment the guitarist/band member on stage gets into a musical rift and shortly after starts to shred or just have long solos.

For the listener: "Dude I was listening to this song last night and it was soo good I had a musical orgasm,"

And for the musician: "I'd been working on this new rift last night and I finally got it right and was so happy I had an instant musical orgasm,"

Musical Geek

Somebody that is completely obsessed with Musicals and lives only for them. Listen to their iPod and it will be completely filled with 'Billy Elliot' , 'Wicked' or 'Les Misérables'.

Mention anything to do with Musicals and they will burst in to song and then continue to sing a medley of all of their favourite songs from their favourite West End Shows.

A typical Musical Geek would say:

Geek 1 : 'Oh my goodness, guess which Wicked song came on earlier?'

Geek 2 : 'I'm limited. Just look at me - I'm limited?'

Geek 1 : 'And just look at you, you can do all that I couldn't do, Glinda'
