Simply a great band. Metal rules and Iron Maiden is one of them.
I'm swedish, and Maiden calls their swedish fans blood brothers. I know alot of bands say that to everyone, but I know they don't lie. 55 000 tickets sold out in 2,5 hours here. Pretty good for a country with 9 million citizens.
I think you have to play for 25 years to enter the rock Hall of Fame. Maiden has played 25 years. Don't you think they should be allowed to enter?

The greatest metal band in the world. People who say Metallica owe nothing to them because they started at the same time, YOU ARE WRONG. Steve Harris formed Iron Maiden in 1975, six years before James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich's first meeting.
The current lineup is:
Lead Vocals - Bruce Dickinson
Bass - Steve Harris
Guitars - Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers
Drums - Nicko McBrain
Each member is amazing in their own way, and the band has stood the test of time against punk, 80's pop, grunge and nu-metal (totally different to Maiden, and SHIT)

Actually the best band ever owns every single band. Bruce, Janick, Steve, Adrain, Dav and Nicko put on the most stunning show ever and anyone hwo says they suck need a punch. Thanks Rod

Founded by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden infused Thin Lizzy style dueling guitars and throbbing basslines with a more metallic sound, leading the British Heavy Metal explosion circa 1980. Though they've made brilliant music throughout their career (excluding No Prayer for the Dying and Fear of the Dark), Maiden were at their peak from Number of the Beast through Somewhere in Time. The greatest band of all time. Fantastic muscisians and songwriters. In the 6 months I have been listening to them I have bouth all of their cd's except for The X Facter and Virtual XI.
Some of their best songs are: Hallowed be they Name, Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Bring your Daughter to the slaughter, Fear of the Dark, and many more.
