An idiotic form of ad hoc, where someone appears to work unproactively without any plan in place, instead, working on a reactive basis which requires very minimal effort and work.

Person A: "Their approach appears to be very id hoc"
Person B: "Don't you mean ad hoc?"
Person A: "No, I mean id hoc = idiotic ad hoc"

Post hoc date

When two people in the 'talking phase' meet up initially and do date type things without planning on it, only to later realise that their meeting could qualify as a date.

Post hoc date refers to a date that is officially recognized or labeled as such after the fact, rather than being a planned or intentional first date.

The couple laughed about their first meeting, realizing that it was actually a post hoc date, as they had already grown close through weeks of getting to know each other.

Ad Hoc Technologies

Tools and devices developed for specific, often temporary purposes—jury-rigged fixes, makeshift solutions, one-off inventions that solve a particular problem and then are discarded. Ad hoc technologies are the opposite of engineered products: they're not designed for mass production, not tested for reliability, not intended to last. They're what you build when the thing you need doesn't exist and you need it now. Duct tape and paperclip solutions, software patches that fix one bug, temporary structures that become permanent—all are ad hoc technologies. They're ugly, fragile, and brilliant in their context.
