Someone who waxes philosophical about being Patriotic but would never actually join the Military and put their ass on the line for anything. To the Fair Weather Patriot simply voting and paying taxes is enough.
Fair Weather Patriot: (Singing Lee Greenwood) "And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today!"
Military Guy: (Interrupting) "Hey man you know we've been at war for like ten years now right? Why haven't you stood up next to me and defended her still today like the song says?"
Fair Weather Patriot: "I do my part -- I vote and pay my taxes."

Get the fair-weather sailor mug.A disloyal friend. Someone who will befriend you when it’s beneficial or convenient for them, but will ditch you the second you’re no longer useful. They’ll hang out with you when nobody else is available. But will ghost you when they find better company. They’re basically a phony friend who are only interested in you when it’s in their favor but couldn’t care less about you as a person.
Hey Steve, why do I only hear from John when he wants a favor but is never available when I need something?
Simple, he’s a fair weather friend.
Simple, he’s a fair weather friend.
