Emo is another type of people. There are jocks, preps, nerds, goths, ect. Emo fits right in there, where it belongs. Emo people are normally happy, but at times get let down. Emos are normally labelled by the kids at school. Bullies help with the labeling. When people get called names and get picked on, they seem sad. A lot of them find ways to avoid it, but some hangs on to it no matter how long ago it was. They hang on because nobody lets them forget.
Next thing you know a rumor or secret gets out about how these people that got bullied hates themselves, or "cut". This is how emos get their names.
Emo people don't all hate themselves, nor "cut". Some are just tired of the life style they live, and people around them. Some don't want to die, they just want to start all over, but they can't. Emo people aren't allways outcast. In fact, some are rather poular.
Take it from someone that has been called "Emo" a lot of times, even by my bestfriend. Emo people aren't what everyone assumes, we can be rather cool.

Bully: Your fat and ugly.
Emo: Okay...Thanks.
(Emo goes home and texts her friend)
Emo: I got called fat and ugly today.
Friend: Again?
Emo: Yep, and I'm getting tired of it.
Friend: Wow, that's nice.
Emo: Yeah.
Friend: Well bye.
Emo: Bye.
(Friend tells people at school emo wants her life to stop)
Bully: So, you want to die know.
Emo: Whatever.
Bully: You should go be "emo" in a hole and die in it.
(Emo goes home and cries)

Punk music on estrogen. Often acoustic guitar with soft, high male vocals that dwell exessively on the singer's feelings, especially melancholy remembrances of past relationships/mistakes in life. A form of music that diverged from punk in the '80s, the name "emo" is derived from the emotive style of the lyrics and music. This genre has lately been marketed heavily by the music industry to teenagers with bands such as Dashboard Confessional and Taking Back Sunday, and has seen much commercial and mainstream success. The music has also spawned a subculture which conforms to certain conventions in dress such as tight sweatshirts, tight band T-shirts and horn-rim glasses. Adherents profess to exessively melancholy temperments. Males that adhere to the emo subculture are sometimes confused with metrosexuals; indeed the line between the two is somwhat blurred, though both groups claim to be intouch with their emotional side. The ephemeral and hackneyed nature of emo songwriting suggests that its audience will be restricted largely to teenagers. the genre suffers from a lack of credibility outside the aforementioned demographic group, much like current Nu Metal bands.
girlfriend: C'mon, lets have sex.
boyfriend: I'm too sad to have sex.
girlfriend: I'm sad too; lets have sex and cry.
boyfriend: I'm already crying.

Emo was first a music genre, but now it is sometimes accepted as a social clique.
What most people think it is, is someone that wears mostly dark clothing, guys that where eyeliner, and they all cut themselves.
What I have found it to actually be is people who might not have the hardest of lives, but just enough problems to make them think they do. They are not as sad as people think though, they only want other people to think they are. It is just the same as someone who over uses jokes because they have a low self esteem, except sad instead of glad. They might write poetry, where make up, skinny jeans, and stuff, but most "emo" guys are straight. And emo's who are not faking it do not like to be called emo. they are just whoever they are, without labels. the conception that they cut themselves is wrong. some do, but I've met a few preps who take out a razor, to. emo's are just as conforming as all the rest, and the real ones will admit it. they aren't trying to be abnormal, they just like how they look.

A term I made up that will probably never be used except by me maybe once resulting in me looking like a tool... It basically means you want to cancel the thought, possibility, and/or misconception of anything emo that you have just said or done or what you are about to say or do.
Meant to be the equivillent of the term no homo but being situationally different.
