blipvert

Originally refers to high-intensity short-length commercials in the 80s scifi television show "Max Headroom".

Conversationally it has come to mean any advertisement or otherwise popular (sub-)cultural touch point (eg. viral video) that is on the order of seconds in length.

When a paramedic goes through ones wallet while they are in an ambulance. Usually the paramedic will take just insurance information.

Bioptikon

A cyberpunk term for "spectacles" (glasses). The term originated in the New York cyberpoetic scene in the early to mid-1990s. Its advantage over spectacles was that it could be used as a singular.

The boy put on his bioptikon so that he could read the book.
