Inner London motorway system planned in the 1970s but never built (hence the horrendous jams today). Term can be used for any worthwhile government project that never materialises, such as the often touted "Birmingham underground" system.

The government will never build an underground system in Birmingham. It will be just like the London Box. Maybe there was a deal in the 1960s that Birmingham will get reasonable roads and London will get reasonable trains.

fuse box or fuse panel is similar to a breaker panel or circuit breaker panel except using one time use replaceable fuses where once the only form of circuit protection and electrical distribution in residential commercial and industrial buildings before circuit breaker panels came along in the mid 1950s fuses boxes are found in older buildings and automobiles

i blew 5 fuses and i had to make 5 trips to the fuse box in the cellar to replace the fuse what hassle replacing blown fuses can be

In a fraudulent exchange of goods, term used to describe a worthless decoy object delivered in place of what was advertised. Originated from a number of eBay scams involving a seller offering expensive, heavy items (such as computer hardware), and ending with the mark being delivered a box filled with sand at their own cost.

"Wow! So all of this premium home theatre equipment in the back of your van is only $300? Tell me, is that box of sand compatible with HDMI?"

A commonly-used term in the Drum Corps and Marching Band communities used to describe things as very very good.

Derived from the judging sheets of marching competitions in which the fifth box is the highest score for a specific section.

"That sandwich was box five, bro!"
"The band got a perfect score, because every single point was in box five"
"Your girlfriend was box five last night, if you know what i'm saying"

white box

To be sloppy as fuck or to take the dirty short cut. Comes from the practice of putting a white box over a part of a figure that you don't want to show on a powerpoint slide, rather then just editing or remaking the figure itself.

I hated this floopy attachment, so I just white boxed it.
