Summer Vacation

The Summer Vacation is the word that describes the "recess" of the students during the summer. However, this word is just the codeword for the loophole teachers get to assign work, so despite popular belief, it's really not a recess at all. Students are just being brainwashed and don't realize they still have school on their summer "vacation."

American Greed Vacation

This is the type of vacation that rich people take. They do not go to see the sights of the place they are visiting but to "relax" (except maybe to golf) and spend most of the vacation stuffing their faces with fancy food or drinking gallons of wine and lounging around the hotel or possibly the beach or pool. Generally the kinds of people who go to the same place all the time and have no appreciation for what a real vacation is.

When you go to Hawaii you see a lot of people in the resort areas on American Greed Vacations.

Goin' on Vacation

The slang term refers to a person that chooses to not wear a shirt. This trend was made popular by the Knoxville, TN band The Royal Bangs who "go on vacation" during their live shows.

"Hey man, you wanna go on vacation?"

"Look everybody! Brandon is on vacation!"

"I can't go to work today because I'm goin' on vacation."

the code implies that the vacationer is given at least a 1 day resting period before you bother them to go out.

When you realizing what/who you're leaving behind as you go on vacation and missing it/them already.

Megan is going to Vietnam. A week before she leaves school, reality hits her that she won't see her friends/best friend for a long time. She develops pre-vacation syndrome (PRVS) and feels "out of place", and begins missing her best friends before she even leaves.
