When a person, often a man, is so submissive in their affection, at times mistakable for an obsession, for another person that it comes at the cost of their own dignity.

This sort of dynamic will often be very one-sided and unbalanced in regard to how much time and/or money is invested in the relation, and how much favour or attention is gained in return.

It does not necessarily need to be time or money, it can also regard social standing or dignity in regard to reducing themselves to a servant for the person in focus.
