E-Friend

E-Friend (efriend, efrnd): A relationship between two individuals, taking place exclusively in cyberspace.

With the growing use of digital communication—email, instant messaging, text messaging, etc.—there has become a growing incidence of digital relationships. The term E-Friend is often used to describe these relationships.

It has a variety of applications; it is frequently used to mean any kind relationship occurring with the aid of cell phones, personal digital assistants, instant messaging services or email.

It may appear in sms (short message service) as efrnd.

a fake friend

A fake friend is someone who doesn't really care about how you feel about yourself. Sadly most friends turn out to be fake friends and don't care about you. You should leave those fake friends right away and find someone real. I have had so many friends that I thought were real but in the end were just like the rest. In 5th grade I moved to a new school and became friends with someone I thought was so sweet then this year she just left me to go be friends with the popular girls but in the end they're just being fake friends to her now.

Facebook "Friend"

A "friend" on facebook whom you added after meeting for a brief period of time. A friend of a friend of a friend, someone you met at a bar, or just a random acquaintance who happened to add you. You rarely, if ever speak to this person.

"Why are 90% of my friends Facebook friends? Who the hell is (XXX)?"

"Who is (XXX)? Oh yeah, I talked to her once at the bar... great, another Facebook "friend""

A: "Who's this (XXX) person? I think talked to her once in my Biology 302 class."

Toxic Friend

a friend that embarasses you in social situations in order to gain attention; a person that constantly betrays your trust, but you cant get away from due to guilt issues; a type of friend that is ok one on one, but will turn on you as soon as other people are around, making it hard to break off the friendship because you 'know how they really are'.
