Luke Corm (new)

The revised definition of Luke corm. It is between Luke warm and look cold. It is synonymous with room temperature / neutral. (Another name: Luke corm room temperature- neutral).
Waiter “what temperature do you like your water?”
Me (always): “Luke corm (new), please. STAT.” I say, as I pull down my sunglasses, roll up my window, and drive away in my custom 300 S Aston Martin.

Town/Village in Upstate NY This was a fun town. Broad Street was the place to hang out after school. MVB was where all the Ichabod kids went to school for grades 3-5 the village was great

Then 2020 and Covid hit

The citiots arrived in droves from NY City, the same people who praised De Blasio and Cuomo for shutting things down to prevent the spread are the ones who left to come upstate due to far less restrictions. Kinderhook has become a nightmare full of rich, miserable white people. They walk around with their trophy dogs and let them shit all over the sidewalks. They frequently use walking sticks to keep their "balance" even though they look completely stupid and idiotic. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, they are out and are pissing off the locals, whether it is a Thursday at rothermal park where the fat stay-at-home moms scream at local teens for playing at the baseball or basketball courts or a Saturday morning of the old people flauting their new JCrew sweaters and Michael Kors handbags, walking around the village with their 3 masks and rubber gloves on. You can find them anywhere, sitting at Broad Street outside shooting every passerby a dirty look or at the yuppie bar Saisonnier, which is filled to the brim with rich central park looking people who make snide remarks.

So that's it for Kinderhook, it was a happy and enjoyable place to live and be for many years, but once the citiots arrived, they have taken their way of city life and ruined a great place.
guy: It's saturday, lets go to rothermal and shoot some baskets!!
Buddy: Nah, all the city people are out, we'll get yelled at for being too loud.
guy: Ugh, I miss the old kinderhook new york.

New Orleans tickle

That inner, light and free feeling of enthusiasm & eagerness when you know you are going to be there soon to renew old memories, ie. "Tony's Spaghetti House", Acme Oyster House, walking along the Waterfront, smells, ie. perfume, "Blue Blossom" and umm, begnets, oyster shells on the curb (phew); noises, the bells at St. Louis Cathedral, and the clip clop of horse's hooves pulling buggies ,sirens, or "I bet I can tell you where you got yo shoes!", sights (you name it) .
I got the New Orleans tickle, cause I'm heading down there tomorrow for French fun, fantasy, frolic, n'food!

New Yorker's Disease

In a conversation, the tendency to casually drop the name of a famous person that you know only obliquely.
Typical example of "New Yorker's Disease: "I ran into Harrison Ford today!" Reason not said - they were filming a movie on street in front of his/her place of work.
