Jose Crow

A spin on the term Jim Crow, which is loosely defined as a set of laws or practices designed to oppress or subjugate African Americans in a society. Jose Crow is used when the oppressors are Hispanic and not white. Jose Crow is especially prevalent in parts of Northern California and on the SF peninsula, where hispanics are the majority population and African Americans are represented in a much smaller minority.

Hispanic Judge: Young man I sentence you to the maximum sentence allowed by law.

Black man: but your honor, it's was a violent offense and I have no priors. My Hispanic accomplice committed the same crime with priors and you only sentenced him to probation!? This is Jim and Jose Crow at its finest!!

Hispanic Judge: I know what I'm doing. Your kind aren't welcome in this county! Next case!!
