Abdul Moiz

Moiz isn’t just a person, he’s a whole feeling. You could fill libraries trying to describe him and still fall short. He has this unreal superpower of saying the sweetest things right when you least expect it, leaving you speechless every single time. He cares in ways that feel soft and real..the kind that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. The way he talks, the way he listens… it’s like he knows how to reach parts of me no one else ever could. His voice is gentle enough to make my heart rest, and his laugh, my absolute favorite sound, has this magic that makes everything around me lighter. When he smiles, it’s like the world remembers how to be beautiful again. He’s not perfect, but somehow he’s perfect to me, my human sunshine, my calm, my safe place. When he goes quiet just to listen, laughs randomly mid-conversation, talks about his day, sings softly, or shares his dreams, every moment feels special. When he’s childish, kind, or just being himself, it’s all warmth, all comfort, all him. But most of all, when he simply lives , that’s the part that stays with me the most.

Every time he smiles, I swear, Abdul Moiz is the reason butterflies still exist.

If warmth ever took human form, it would probably look a lot like Abdul Moiz.

Canadian Bar Mitzvah

For children growing up in a snowy climate, the coming-of-age moment where you're finally invited by your dad to join the group of strangers currently struggling to push a car in neutral out of the roadside snowdrift it's gotten itself stuck into.

Every time I go by the blind curve in the park I had my Canadian Bar Mitzvah at, I smile a little.

Canadian Bar Mitzvah

It's when your canadian child is old enough for you to kick it. Usually in-between 1 and 2 years old. You must do this while yelling, "Kick the baby!"

I'm so excited for little Travice's first birthday. I think he's old enough to get his Canadian Bar Mitzvah!
