Word from the 70s/80s indicating something "cool" or "awesome".
Anyways, the new generation started to use it because they have an identity problem, and to hide their obvious personal/sexual confusion, they use this word.

"Hey Darryl, thats a RAD gun you got there!"
"Thanks Johnny, i will use it to shoot people in my SCHOOL"
"Oh reallyyy? Thats RAD"

Rad coming from radical, (putting an emphasis on cool or awesome) the word was developed from skaters and surfers from late 70's -early 80's coming from California, Los Angeles. i.e see movies's from the early- mid 80's (Rad & Gleaming the Cube).

Awesome people replace all positive adjectives with the word rad. Rad is when you mean awesome and epic and cool just all in one go. Nerds say that rad isn't a real word, but that is because it is not in their 10000000 page chemistry books. If you say rad non stop, like I do, you're rad.
