Emerging Adult

A very specific life stage that is often overlooked by our society. The time between adolescence and adulthood- somewhere between the ages of 18 and 30 (the end point is debatable). Because of the format of our current society, things like college and the economy force this age group into a state of perpetual adolescence based primarily on a strong dependence on the income of one's parents. This age group tends to live at home (usually in a basement apartment of some sort) and mooch off of family for food and shelter, but are still responsible for many "adult things", like student loans and cell phone payments.

Dr. Timmy is 28 and lives in his parent's garage apartment. What an emerging adult!

Someone born in the new millennium (Year 2000) whose about to turn 18 in 2018!

Ryan to Dave: Dude did you know people born in 2000 will be adults!!!!
Dave: No...this cant be.....I'm 30 years older than them, it's too early to have millennium adults why now???

Little Adult

One of the multitude of modern-day, thirty-somethings who act and feel immature relative to their "grown-up" parents at comparable milestones in life. (originally coined by comedian Matt Price; co-star of TNT's "Men of a Certain Age" )

Despite being 32 and having a kid with his longtime girlfriend, the fact that Joe was playing X-Box in his parents' living room and debating going back to grad school made him feel like a "Little Adult".

grown-ass adult

A person who is legally and biologically in the adult stage of human development. Typically used as a derisive term for a person who acts way, way younger than they actually are, i.e. a manchild.

Oh, for the love of God, you're a grown-ass adult. Do your own damn laundry!

Millennium adult

An adult who was born in the new millennium (Born on January 1, 2000 or later). Typically, someone born in the new millennium becomes a millennium adult when he or she reaches the age 18 (In most countries).

Scott to Mom: Hey mom.
Mom to Scott: Hey my baby, happy birthday! I can't believe you're 17 you are growing up so fast!
Scott to Mom: Actually mom....I'm 18.
Mott to Scott: Wait, no you aren't.

Scott to Mom: Yes I am mom. I was born in 2000, not 2001.

Mom to Scott: Oh no...my baby is a millennium adult (vomits)_
Scott to Mom: Are you alright mother?
