tortuga

Tortuga describes a person who is very studious and cares a lot about grades and studying.
Originally derived from studious people who wear big backpacks as high up as possible, making them look like a turtle, tortuga has now come to describe any person who is exceptionally scholarly and hard-working.

Look at Corinna, she's in the library every Friday. What a tortuga!!

Being put in a situation that may be good or bad, but overall is extremely tricky to handle. Not being able to deal with a tough spot may result in a tewwble job.

Realizing you don't have a tin of dip when you are on the first tee of 18 holes is a really tough spot.

rough tough cream puff

One of the many, many priceless contributions from R. Crumb - perhaps passed along by this misanthropic genius from someone else. It refers to a male with a ferocious posture, threatening gaze and aggressive stance, but a guy who will actually cave in and whimper when faced down in earnest.

Her hero was in fact a rough tough cream puff: he would threaten others and put on a big show but somehow never managed to get into actual fights. He was big and belligerent but basically a coward.

Someone filled with anger who never had the chance to throw it back on others because he or she is physically inferior.

A.K.A. The result of having been bullied at school as a young child, or simply the result of all IDIOTS out there who are so immature spiritually that they can't bare having the truth said to their faces.

An overly strong-minded individual who suffered from the jealousy of his inferior peers.
