A person who threatens, or harasses another person over the phone, but wouldn't have the courage to do it in person.

She called my house today, and cursed me out, and threatened to beat me up, but when I saw her in school earlier today, she couldn't look me in the eyes. She's a punk! She just a phone-thug!

back when their primary use was calling, it was like torture to go anywhere because every 5 seconds a random phone would ring. now that people use their cell phones mostly for texting and web browsing, life is better, though it's still slightly annoying to see everyone looking down at their phones.

to pretend your on the phone with/ texting someone while in public for either two reasons:

1. too look cool and like you have friends or

2. to avoid certain situations

reason number two is the most respectable one.

1. person 1: whos that skank on the phone with? why would anyone call her?
person 2: i bet shes phoney phoning.

2. person 1: shit here she comes, lets phoney phone so she won't try and talk to us.
