That definition comes from a bumper sticker by sexologist Dr. Jill McDevitt, www.thesexologist.org
Also consider that there's no masculine equivalent to this common use of "slut". Men are instead admired for wanting and having lots of sex!

Someone who uses sex for negative purposes such as gaining an unfair advantage in the workforce or to get back at someone. Not to be confused with promiscuity whereas the person in question partakes in a natural act.

"dude your ex is fucking your brother to get back at you"

According to professional sluts Easton & Liszt, authors of the book The Ethical Slut, a slut is "a person of any gender who has the courage to lead life according to the radical proposition that sex is nice and pleasure is good for you."
Wow. That slut has as much sex as I would like to have. I am so incredibly envious.
It is a shame that our hypocritical, puritanical society is so hard on sluts.
Sluts do what we all want to do - sluts are heroes.

A derogatory term used by people to describe an overly sexual, sleazy behaviour. Usually used to describe women (Though occasionally used towards men), it is considered quite offensive. It is often that it is used to shame women for wearing revealing clothes or showing any semblance of liking sex. It can be said that this is rooted in the extremely old-fashioned idea that women who have sex drives are shameful, or evil. Regardless, it a dumb term that we as a society should just move on from but won't for a long time because these weirdly sexist ideas are still so deeply rooted in our every day lives that we barely notice them.
Rachel: "Doesn't Alicia seem kind of like a slut to you? I mean... she sleeps with so many guys, and look at what she's wearing!"
Mary: "I dunno, she seems like a generally cool person, I don't see why she should be judged by how many dudes she's fucking and what she likes to wear."
Rachel: "But doesn't it kind of bother you how she's cool to have sex with whoever?"
Mary: "I don't see how her sex life is any of my business."
Alternate Example
Some Asshole: "Hey there slut, I can give you a good time."
Alicia: "What the fuck? Leave me the fuck alone."
Some Asshole: "Fine, you're an ugly ass bitch anyways. Wouldn't want to fuck with such a skank ass. Dress like a slut as well."
