An area of a gym/exercise facility populated with small groups of men in carefully planned outfits with overly gelled hair or hats with flat bills. One member of each group is usually actually doing an exercise or lift while the others stand around and chat while comparing themselves in the mirrors. After 20 minutes - they rotate which person is using the weights/machine. After two hours the average number of lifts performed by each person averages at about 6.
Example 1:
A: Did you get a lift in at the gym last night?
B: I tried but it was a tool shed so I had to wait forever for machines to open up.
Example 2:
A: Great, the lifting area looks like a complete tool shed today, maybe we should wait to lift until later.
Example 3:
A: Did you see any hot guys at the gym this morning?
B: Haha, no. It was such a tool shed, none of them were worth a second glance.

1. To practice, especially a musical instrument or piece of music. From jazz slang. Metaphorically, "take one's axe to the woodshed."
2. To consume or engage with. Used primarily by musicians as an extension of the first definition.

1. I spent all morning shedding guitar.
That gig was rough, I definitely didn't shed those songs hard enough.
2. "Have you shed Parks and Rec?" "Not yet, I'm shedding The Office first."
At some point, almost every philosophy student sheds Plato.
