Mathin

Mathin is a name that came to England in the 11th century wave of migration that was set off by the Norman Conquest of 1066. Mathin comes from the Latin name Martinus, which is a derivative of Mars, who was the Roman god of fertility and war. The meaning is usually rendered in reference to the god as "of Mars", or "of war/warlike"
