Before the invention of pie, there was a need for a food to use in eating competitions. The food used became the penises of dead villagers. Since homosexuality was viewed as "wicked" in the days of yor, and the homosexuals typically won the penis, or dick, eating contests, it was a quite insulting remark at the time to utter to a fellow villager. Since then, the remark has lost some meaning, but remains insulting nonetheless.
