Imitation crab meat sold mostly at chinese buffets and supermarkets in the seafood section. Faux crab resembles real crab meat, but is artificial and cheaper than real crab.

A fake Freddie Mercury. Some wannabee who thinks they are the next Freddie Mercury just because they can cover a Queen song or two.

A: I'm so excited about New Moon.
B: Why?
A: Because I'm looking forward to see Edward's six pack.
B: I'm excited too but I prefer Jacob's abs because Edward's is a faux-pack.

Translates directly to false step in French. Translates indirectly to embarrassing social fuck up, which usual makes everything awkward for everybody involved. Major party foul
Man did you see hunter try to make an unwanted move on that girl and get shut down? What a faux pas.

A guy who has never left his parents million dollar suburban how yet thinks and talks like he's hood because he listens to rap and smokes weed.
I saw this faux thug from Scarsdale at the mall giving a pound sayin "what's hood son". Knowing he's driving mommy?s Benz outside.

A beard no longer than 1/2 inch long used by hipsters to get jobs in coffee shops and pick up impressionable chicks wearing converse shoes. You may not "get it" at first. If it is "hollywood scruff" and under 1/8 of an inch it does not qualify. Rednecks who can't grow beards also don't qualify. To distinguish between the two, ask if they like the new Toby Keith album. If they say, "Who?" Then you have encountered a hipster with a faux beard.
Wow, that guy in the Verizon 4G commercial with the rocket totally has a faux beard. I didn't even know hipsters liked rockets.

Fake hardcore, also for screamo and metalcore. Taking classic 80's and 90's hardcore, screamo, and metallic hardcore (metalcore), by completely debauching the subgenre(s) from over use of "break downs", unnecessary clean vocals, weak death metal vocals/growls, unoriginal and overused "hardcore attitude" (ranging from tough guy, integrity, and "brotherhood" themed lyrics).
