Tankie

A young male, usually between the ages of 13 and 21 who spends way to much time on reddit and 4chan, and who is a strong supporter of communism, especially the soviet union because it sounds nice and has a cool national anthem. Will also go out of there way to find reasons why the USSR is (was) cooler than the U.S.

"Tankie" refers to principled Communists who have the balls to support and carry on the tradition of supporting revolunarys across the globe instead of LARPers who's "Leftist activism" begins and ends at screaming "b-B-but nOoOt rEaL cOmmUnisM"

It is used mostly in online spaces by self-proclaimed "anarchists" (read: anti-communists and Liberals who like dressing their slogans in rosy sounding language draping them in red and black)

Tankie is to describe those who supported/is supporting the economic and political system of the USSR and other socialist nations both existing and/or previously existing states and their leaders particularly Stalin and Mao, While also strictly criticising these states methods and execution.

Used commonly as an insult from anarchists and other ideologies.

Damn i hate the ussr because none of my ideology actually achieves something to society. I hate those red fascist tankies for making me look like a hippie gathering than an revolution!

An insult used by radlibs and other leftists to describe socialists or communists that defend actually existing socialism (or anti-imperialists) who don't buy into the BS spread about countries like the USSR, China, Cuba, Venezuela, or the DPRK by the State Department, the CIA, and the mainstream media.

2. A general derogative hurled against any Marxist-Leninist or Marxist-Leninist-Maoist by radlibs or other leftists.

Marxist-Leninist: Actually, the Soviet Union was dissolved illegally against the wishes of the people. And even today a majority of people who lived in former Soviet republics during the Soviet Union and currently live there say life was better back then. No country is perfect, but we should make sure to be skeptical of anything the West says about them.
