Social Media Seizure

Random burst of overactivity on your personal social networking sites.
Posting frequently in short periods of time to your twitter, facebook, tumblr, etc.

Girl 1: "Did you see the 12 posts from Jack in the last five minutes on his facebook?!?!"

Girl 2: "Yeah I think he just had a Social Media Seizure"

Social Media Syndrome (SMS)

The condition in which a person lives vicariously through themselves.
Guy 1 at party: Hey I heard Betty was going to be here! Have you seen her yet, I can't wait to meet her! She's so cray !
Guy 2 at party: Dude, she's been here all night. She's that sad looking girl sitting alone in the corner.
Guy 1 at party: What?! I thought she'd be dancing on a table by now from all her awesome FB and IG posts!

Guy 2 at party: Yeah, you'd think but she has a classic case of social media syndrome (SMS).

Social media snitch

Someone who tells people and your family what social media accounts you have and everything you post
Wife: hey do you have snap chat? Husband: no why? Wife: well jermey said you do. Husband: I had snap chat but no I don't have it any more. Jermey is just being a social media snitch!

Media Shower

When a celebrity or a new person gets WAY too much spotlight. This can cause a snobbish side to surface, and their friends or aquaintances to notice them acting differently. Otherwise, this causes the "showered" person to feel shy or be surrounded by people by simply going outside their house, making them annoyed.
After Jack's new speech on world matters, he got a media shower and became a different person; one his friends didn't know anymore.

Once Beth won the spelling bee, her media shower forced her to skip school for the next week.

Media Studies

Media Studies is an academic discipline which looks into the media industry and the sociological effects it has over the majority. It is a diverse study which is taught at various academic levels such as GCSE, GCE Advanced Level and many university programs.

The study has ties with Humanity based subjects such as Sociology, Psychology and History and ties with Art based subjects such as the Performing Arts, Production Arts and Literature. It is because of this that Media Studies can be considered to be a collaboration of Academia and the Arts.

Unfortunatley because the course is relatively new it is regarded as a 'soft option' by traditionalists. This is however untrue as media studies like any subject requires a lot of practise and understanding in order succeed in.
Person A - "I study the sociological effects the media industry has over the public!"

Person B - "Wow sounds good, whats it called?"

Person A - "Media Studies"

Person B - "Mickey Mouse!"

Person A - (Facepalm)
