1. a compound word made up from Jai meaning success or victory and kar meaning an action taken. Therefore Jaikara is an act or utterance in a symbolic show of strength and achievement. Both these words are part of the Sikh terminology and have often been used in the Sikh religious literature, especially in the Guru Granth Sahib.
