The origin of the word ghetto comes from the dialect spoken in Venezia, aka Venice for english-spoken people, and probably was created during 1400-1500. It was used to define the place where jewish people live and have their bussinesses,
separated from the oligarchy that ruled Venezia in that period , that was mainly connected with commerce on the Mediterranean
Sea.I think people in Venezia could haven't believed that this word would have such a fortune. Of course this word can mean all the other entries are in this this useful slang dictionary.

despite pop culture, ghetto is actually a noun, not an adjective to describe something poorly made or maintained. a ghetto is an area of gov't funded housing.

where has our society come 2... its stupid tat people are labled for what they're wearin... who cares.. theres a difference between wearin urban clothing and acting " gangsta"/ bein from the ghetto.... people like eminem and white dj producers shouldnt be called wiggers jus cuz they're white and wear urban clothing... they are part of the hiphop culture and society and are bein themselves.. also labeling black people as being ghetto is wrong.. its stupid how people accept black people for wearin urban clothin and not other races.. there are many black kids who wear urban hiphop clothing and they arent from the ghetto... hiphop is not about the color of ur skin... its about music... our media has played a large influence in this.. theres a big misperception between bein gansta and wearin hiphop clothing... people thez days judge others to quickly and worry bout others to much... now if a white suburban kid is speakin the ghetto lingo and glamorizing bein "gangsta"... like bein a blood or crip... tats different... those people dont know who they are and still need to think really hard about what they are doin with themselves... as a whole society shouldnt be so stereotypical... like labeling blacks, whites, hispanics and asians... people can choose to wear what they want.... in the end its the people that are makin fun of them that have to look at themselves in the mirror before targetin others....
