Vollie

( vol-ee) n. A volunteer firefighter or First Aider; usually a geeky/nerdy suburbanite looking to overcompensate for his lack of masculinity, social popularity, and/or small-town political connections and hopes to obtain the ever-coveted small-town police department job. Vollies adorn their pick-up trucks with an excessive amounts of blue LED lights because the power trip of making other vehicles pull over to the side for them is almost orgasmic. Several stickers, placards, maltese crosses and some FDNY 9/11 are plastered all over the vehicle -in case you didn't know what they did for a hobby. They also pander to paid city jobs with the "Bro" and "Brother" in hopes of being perceived as "one of them," but are never taken seriously by paid members and are perceived as "buffs" and "hobbyists." Used mostly as a pejorative...obviously

uh-oh, the vollie buffs are coming up the block, quick, shut the door!

Lord Voldemort

The arch-villian in the Harry Potter series. He was born Tom Marvolo Riddle to Merope Gaunt, a cross-eyed descendent of Salazar Slytherin and Tom Riddle Senior, a handsome, rich and cocky muggle.

Already calculating and shrewd as a boy, he grew to be one of the most feared dark wizards of all time.

His main aim, presumably, is to achieve immortality, rid the world of muggles and take over the wizarding world.

Is often called 'Voldy' by fans.

My English teacher looks like Lord Voldemort.

Voldermort

A misspelling of "Voldemort". Voldemort is the primary villain in the Harry Potter series.

Some fans of the books tend to insert the additional "R" often, probably because of its location on the keyboard next to "E". This frequent error is terribly irritating to certain pedantic HP fans; the resulting situation is terribly funny to relatively average fans like me.

But I thought Voldermort was Harry's grandfather...?

Voldemart

A chain of department stores started in the eighth Harry Potter book by the evil Lord Voldemort under a pseudonym. Specialises in cursed Muggle artefacts.

(SPOILER ALERT:) voldemort's ghost returns as a sheep and opens up a chain of stores- 'voldemart', attempting to take over the world via consumerism.

Dark witch A: i'm having some people i don't like over for tea next week. where did you get those biting tea cups?
Dark witch B: Voldemart. You want to go shopping later? I have to stock up on cursed opal necklaces.
